The management of Formula 1 has informed teams that the stage of the "Royal Races" at the "MadRing" will take place in 2026, according to priority plans.
This was reported by the Japanese publication Auto sport Web.
According to journalists from Japan, the confirmation was received after a visit by technical specialists from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to the track in Madrid, Spain.
Also, according to the publication, the organizers of the stage in Barcelona were hoping that their colleagues from the capital would encounter problems and that the Spanish Grand Prix 2026 would take place at the track in Catalonia.
The length of the "MadRing" will be almost 5.5 km, of which 1.5 km will run on public roads. Formula 1 describes it as a "hybrid" track. It was designed by the company "Dromo," which has previously worked on other Formula 1 circuits, including Zandvoort in the Netherlands and Sepang in Malaysia.
