26-year-old British driver Lando Norris from McLaren won the Formula 1 championship for the 2025 season.
Norris's championship was the first of his career. He ended the dominance of 28-year-old Dutch driver Max Verstappen from the Red Bull Racing team, who had been champion for the previous four seasons.
Notably, Lando Norris's victory prevented Max Verstappen from matching the record of legendary German driver Michael Schumacher for the most consecutive wins in Formula 1. The German driver won a total of seven titles, including five in a row from 2000 to 2004.
Interestingly, Max Verstappen still maintains the lead in the list of the highest-paid drivers of the year. His total income for the season was around $76 million.
