Three-time Olympic medalist, four-time world champion, Italian biathlete Dorothea Wierer stated that she does not feel sad about the end of her professional career.
Earlier, 35-year-old Wierer announced that she would retire after the end of the 2025/26 season.
"I’m not sad about leaving — on the contrary, I’m looking forward to the moment when I can live peacefully. In this last season, my goal is to enjoy the moment without thinking too much about the results. I’ve decided to let these Games surprise me.
Even if I don’t win a medal, I don’t think it will change my attitude towards my career," Wierer said, as quoted by Fondo Italia.
