The artist was educated at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Burke successfully performed both on stage and in film. He appeared in almost all of the most famous detective series made in the last fifty years on the foggy Albion.
The actor gained fame for his role as Dr. Watson in the series 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes', followed by films such as 'A Purely English Murder' and 'Poirot'. In the film 'Raleigh: The King of Spies', Burke played Joseph Stalin.
