Canadian forward Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins has reached at least 80 points in a calendar year for the 14th time in his career.
Only two players in NHL history have reached or exceeded such a mark: Wayne Gretzky (16 times) and Marcel Dionne (15 times).
In a regular season game against the Dallas Stars (2:3 SO), Crosby recorded an assist.
In the current regular season, Crosby has participated in 27 games, scoring 18 goals and 12 assists with a plus-minus rating of ‘-1’.
Throughout his NHL career, he has a total of 643 goals and 1,074 assists in 1,379 games.
