The Latvian National Ice Hockey Team Continues the Tournament in Germany with a Match Against Slovakia

The Latvian men's ice hockey team will face the Slovak national team today in Landshut in the second match of the "German Cup," reports LETA.

The match will start at 12:00 Latvian time, with a live broadcast on TV6.

On Thursday, the Latvian team lost to the German national team in the first match with a score of 1:4, while Slovakia defeated Austria 6:2.

On Sunday at 12:00, the Latvian national team will conclude the tournament with a match against Austria.

Head coach Harijs Vitolins is assisted at the tournament by coaches Lauris Darzins, Sandis Ozolins, Raimonds Vilkoits, and Petteri Nummelin, goaltending coach Arturs Irbe, and strength and conditioning coach Eriks Visockis.

The Latvian national team has participated in this competition only once — in 2020, when they won the tournament. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only three teams participated in the competition at that time — the Latvian national team, the German national team, and the Germany U-23 team.
