Malkin participated in Benjamin Kintela's goal and brought his season totals for 2025/26 to 17 points (3+14) — the best result among players aged 39 in the first 12 games of the season in the last 55 years, tying for the second-best mark in league history.
Malkin matched the achievement of Jean Beliveau (17, 1970/71 season), surpassing the results of Alexander Ovechkin (16, 2024/25) and Gordie Howe (16, 1967/68).
