Alexander Ovechkin assessed his first goal of the new NHL season

Russian forward of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin commented on his first goal of the new NHL season. His team defeated Minnesota 5–1.

"As for the goal, I had almost no chances in the previous games, and it was frustrating. Well, sometimes you just have to be patient. I waited for my goal, and I hope to continue in the next games," Ovechkin's words are reported by the Washington press service.

Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal and made one assist in the match against Minnesota. The Russian forward now has 898 goals in regular seasons of the National Hockey League.

In the previous four games, Ovechkin had only two assists.

Alexander Ovechkin made his NHL debut in 2005. This is his 20th season in North America. Previously, the forward played for Dynamo Moscow.
