The Football Association of Indonesia announced the departure of Dutchman Patrick Kluivert from the position of head coach of the national team.
The contract with the 49-year-old specialist has been terminated by mutual agreement of the parties.
Kluivert was appointed to this position on January 8 of this year and worked in the role for just over nine months. In the qualifying stage for the 2026 World Cup, the Indonesian national team lost to Iraq 0-1 on October 11 and lost the chance to qualify for the tournament, which will take place in the USA, Mexico, and Canada next summer.
Throughout his coaching career, Kluivert has served as an assistant in the coaching staff of the Netherlands and Cameroon national teams, as well as at the clubs AZ and NEC. He led the youth teams of Twente and Ajax, coached the Curaçao national team, and the Turkish club Adana Demirspor. He also held managerial positions at PSG and Barcelona.
As a player, Kluivert played for Ajax, Milan, Barcelona, Newcastle, Valencia, PSV, and Lille.
