NHL. The best scorer of modern times, Connor McDavid, has clearly been modest. Details of his new contract with Edmonton have been revealed

Forward and captain of Edmonton, Connor McDavid, has signed a new two-year contract with the Canadian club.

This is reported by the press service of the Oilers.

Over two years with the Oilers, McDavid will earn $25 million. The cap hit is $12.5 million — a modest reward for the best scorer of modern times. This is $4.5 million less than Kirill Kaprizov's new deal with Minnesota...

It is reported that in the 2026/27 season, Connor will receive a base salary of $850,000 and a signing bonus of $13.4 million, and in the 2027/28 season — $900,000 + $9.85 million. The agreement includes a no-trade clause without the player's consent.

The 28-year-old McDavid was selected by Edmonton with the first overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. He has played a total of 712 regular-season games for the Oilers, earning 1,082 points (361+721). In the playoffs, he has 96 games and 150 points (44+106).

On the international stage, Connor has won World Championships with the Canadian national team at the junior (2013), under-20 (2015), and senior (2016) levels.
