FIFA Names Condition for Israel«s Suspension 0 70

The match director of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Alisher Nikimbaev, named the condition for Israel's suspension from tournaments. His words are quoted by Metaratings.

Nikimbaev stated that FIFA's position depends on the United States, as the country is the main and essentially the only ally of Israel. He emphasized that FIFA President Gianni Infantino is trying to befriend President Donald Trump, and therefore FIFA is guided by the position of the United States.

On September 23, eight UN experts appealed to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and FIFA with a request to suspend Israel from international tournaments. The motivation cited is the "ongoing genocide in the territory of Palestine."

After that, a group of 47 athletes appealed to UEFA demanding the suspension of Israeli clubs and national teams from international tournaments. Most of those who signed the letter are football players.
