The law was barely adopted, and they already want to amend it.
"We did not support this provision!" - said Edvins Snore, parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of the Interior and a member of the Saeima from the National Alliance, in an interview with Latvian TV, commenting on the article of the new Immigration Law that allows for a temporary residence permit for a period of 5 years in exchange for an investment of 150,000 euros in the Alternative Investment Fund and a contribution of 10,000 euros to the budget.
As reported by Latvian TV, members of the National Alliance do not rule out that amendments to the new Immigration Law, which was only adopted YESTERDAY, may still be submitted in this Saeima. The National Alliance deputies will attempt to have this article regarding the issuance of residence permits for such investments removed.
