Hollywood actor Richard Gere arrived in Latvia on Wednesday as part of an international campaign in support of Tibet and has already met with Saeima deputies.
Photos from the meeting quickly appeared on the social media of Latvian politicians, many of whom did not miss the opportunity to take a picture with the famous actor and long-time advocate for Tibetan rights.
Gere's visit is part of a campaign to advocate for the interests of Tibet. Accompanying him in Riga is the president of the International Campaign for Tibet, Tenzin Gyatso.
The visit program includes meetings with Latvian parliamentarians, a press conference, and interaction with the audience of the documentary film "Wisdom of Happiness."
The film screening will begin at 18:00. Before the session, around 17:25, Gere will speak to the audience as the producer and one of the creators of the film.
