Until June 21, 2026, the Bauska Museum is hosting an exhibition by Israeli artist Zoe Severa titled "Israel in Gold and Sapphire." The exhibition offers viewers a vibrant visual journey through the cities, landscapes, and cultural features of Israel as seen through the eyes of the author.

Artist with a Recognizable Style

Zoe Severa was born in 1974 in Lviv. Later, she moved to Israel, where she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Today, the artist lives and works in the city of Givatayim, and her works are represented in museums and private collections around the world.

Zoe Severa's creativity is characterized by a bright color palette, an optimistic mood, and a unique artistic language, which makes her works easily recognizable.

Israel Through the Artist's Eyes

At the center of the exhibition is the author's perception of Israel, with special attention given to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. These cities, so different from each other, come together in the artist's works to create a unified artistic narrative about the country, its history, culture, and people. Through urban landscapes, architectural details, and atmospheric scenes, the author showcases the multifaceted nature of Israeli life, uniting different eras and moods.

Magical Expressionism and the Play of Color

Zoe Severa's paintings are executed in her characteristic style, referred to as "magical expressionism." In her works, reality intertwines with fantasy, and architecture becomes part of an emotional narrative. The canvases depict skyscrapers, waterfronts, markets, parks, and bustling city streets. The works gain special expressiveness from golden and rich sapphire shades, which create a unique atmosphere for each painting.
