The head of the 'Progressives' parliamentary faction, Andris Shuvaevs, launched accusations against the prime minister and the 'Greens and Farmers.'
Contrary to expectations and forecasts, the leadership of the 'Progressives' party did not make any drastic moves and decided to prolong the agony of this government. Today, following a meeting of the party's board, it was decided... to invite Evika Silina for a conversation with the 'Progressives' faction in the Saeima. Only after this conversation will the party determine its further steps. Announcing this at a press conference, the head of the 'Progressives' parliamentary faction and the party's candidate for prime minister in the upcoming elections, Andris Shuvaevs, launched accusations against Evika Silina regarding intrigues, games, and that she, for example, had been inactive in connection with the scandal of 'misappropriation of funds in the timber processing case.' Moreover, Shuvaevs is convinced that the prime minister also covered (tried to protect) the Minister of Agriculture, Armands Krauze, from the Union of Greens and Farmers.
Shuvaevs claimed that he knew for sure: many representatives of 'New Unity' were not thrilled with their prime minister's actions. However, he did not provide any evidence to support this version. Meanwhile, today, as it is known, 'New Unity' issued a statement expressing full support for Evika Silina.
In any case, the de facto government continues to exist. It is noteworthy that, despite the 'friendly' atmosphere in the coalition, representatives of the 'Progressives' will participate in the coalition council meeting today.
