The country's Prime Minister stated that the significant funding allocated by the government for defense, which amounts to nearly 2 billion euros, means greater responsibility for the defense sector to society.
In an interview with Latvian Radio on Friday, Silina did not give a direct answer to the question about the possible resignation of Sprudins, but criticized the minister's actions, emphasizing that with such funding, the responsibility of the sector increases.
She noted that the notification of the population about the threat was unsatisfactory, so she will discuss the situation with the minister.
The minister himself also acknowledged that the notification via the mobile network may have been delayed, promising to conduct an assessment and improve the process if necessary.
