The parliamentarian saw a similarity between our national airline and our country.
Independent deputy, former minister Didzis Šmits "discovered" a similarity between airBaltic and Latvia, which he shared on the social network X:
"AirBaltic is an exact copy of Latvia. Small, nice, cute, up to its ears in debt and uncompetitive. The management has been bluffing shareholders for years, solving problems at the expense of loans. To expect that a government that manages the country in the same way can solve airBaltic or any other complex task differently is madness. When a drone gets into a tree, it takes all of it. The tree needs to be cut down for firewood, chemically treated for the strain, and a new tree planted. There is not enough strength for this now, so at some point the tree will fall by itself. It is now important to prepare new seedlings to plant in this place. This is what we need to work on, and almost only this!"
