The program to support entrepreneurship on the ground floors of buildings has ended. Money was provided to decorate the dark, gloomy windows that depress the city's residents and guests.
Unfortunately, all the funding allocated by the city for these purposes, planned for 2026, quickly ran out. Whether there is little money or many depressing windows, those who managed to submit their applications took the assistance within a month.
The total amount for supporting entrepreneurs on the ground floors of buildings was set at 250,000 euros.
Therefore, the Riga City Council is asking entrepreneurs to prepare their applications in advance for the 2027 season. Otherwise, those who miss the opportunity will be too late.
The start of the application process for assistance for commercial premises on the ground floors of buildings is planned to open on February 1 of next year. In theory, any merchant on the ground floor in the historic center of Riga and its protected zone will be able to apply for the assistance.
