The Riga municipality supported 23 applications from residents' societies for the improvement of various areas in the capital's neighborhoods, the external communication department of the Riga city council reported.
Continuing the practical support program for residents' societies that began in autumn 2023, this spring the municipality offered to submit applications for the delivery of topsoil, compost, grass seed, and garbage containers, so that residents of Riga could improve the areas in their neighborhoods by their own efforts.
Twenty-three initiatives were supported - 204 cubic meters of topsoil and 35 cubic meters of compost were delivered to residents' societies, and 128 kilograms of grass seed were issued. Garbage collection containers were also provided at six addresses.

Several residents' societies carried out landscaping work on the Great Cleanup Day, April 25. In some places, landscaping work is still ongoing.
