Colleague deputies posted photos and videos from the Riga City Council meeting on social media. In it, the deputy from the National Bloc and the main de-Russifier of Latvia, Liana Langa, seems to have fallen asleep. Or she is nurturing new plans to expel Cyrillic from public space.
"This meeting of the Riga City Council is not a break. In the back row, the Deputy Mayor for Finance - the 'fighter for language purity' Langa is sleeping. When her sleeping photos and videos flooded Facebook - she also reacted: 'I’m just tired of listening to this terrible Sovereign Power...'. Poor thing, maybe they should also give her milk for harm?" noted an opposition deputy on social media.
Discussions spread across social media, during which people began to create memes and collages using AI about what Langa might be dreaming of at work.
For example, it was suggested that she is dreaming of the infamous 'Sverdlovsk Market'. Others believe it’s better if she just sleeps.
