“We can’t even shoot down one drone!” Opposition wants to dismiss the Minister of Defense 0 11

"The Minister of Defense is only engaged in chatter! In reality, nothing has been done to make the residents of Latvia feel safe," said Ainars Šlesers, leader of the 'Latvia First' party, during a live broadcast on Latvian TV today. According to the opposition politician, the government talks a lot about defense but does very little. "They promised to mine the territory along the border, but nothing has been done. They couldn't even procure and install modern missile and drone defense systems along the border. If we can’t shoot down one drone, what will we do if two, ten, or hundreds come our way... The Minister of Defense is simply doing nothing!" concluded A. Šlesers, expressing hope that this time the coalition partners, the 'Green Farmers', will support the dismissal of the minister. "They are faced with a choice - either support the minister's dismissal or continue to keep this government until the end and thus sink with it. If the 'Green Farmers' do not change their position, I am sure they will not overcome the five percent barrier in the Saeima elections," stated A. Šlesers.
