Funding for organizing flights to bring residents of Latvia from the Middle East region is planned to be taken from the budget program for unforeseen circumstances, according to the annotation to the draft order prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The draft order prepared by the MFA in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport provides for the organization of a flight by the airline "airBaltic" from the Middle East region, as well as, if necessary, the evacuation of people by ground transport to neighboring countries. The exact amount of funding required cannot currently be determined, as the number of people needing state assistance has not yet been identified.

As of March 4, 624 residents of Latvia who need assistance to leave the United Arab Emirates have registered in the consular register of the MFA.
