In the middle of winter, soil sampling began at the closed Altanava overpass. This does not yet mean that a new bridge will be built there in the near future.
But it already indicates that the process of replacing the outdated and unusable overpass has begun.
However, this is only the first stage. Soil sampling along the Riga metro line was also conducted, but there is still no metro.
One can only hope that the residents of Tornakalns will be a bit luckier, and ultimately the old bridge will be dismantled, while a new one will be constructed in a few years.
For now, as it turns out, life can go on without this overpass. Yes, there are long traffic jams on the detour routes in the mornings, but life in Bierini has not come to a halt.
