"Green farmers" may raise the issue of the strange procurement within the Rail Baltica project.
Today, Prime Minister Evika Silina will hold a meeting of the coalition council. It is expected that the partners will discuss the final version of the amendments related to providing housing allowances to households struggling to pay the current astronomical heating bills. The Saeima is set to approve the bill in an urgent (final) reading on Thursday. Local governments insist that they be compensated for these payments to a greater extent.
The ruling coalition may also discuss numerous amendments that have been submitted to the parliament as part of the review of public procurement reform. Several non-governmental organizations have expressed concern about the proposed amendments, believing that the liberalization of the procurement system will contribute to corruption.
A discussion is also expected on how to proceed with the law returned by the president, which defines the new procedure for paying pensions to judges and prosecutors.
It cannot be ruled out that the "green farmers" will raise the issue of the strange procurement competition within the Rail Baltica project - as a result, the competition was won by a firm with a bid that was 270 million higher than that of another contender!
The partners may also discuss improving the integration and support system for refugees from Ukraine.
