The Prime Minister Will Have a Non-Staff Consultant on Military Cooperation

Prime Minister Evika Silina will have a non-staff consultant on military cooperation, according to a publication in the official publication "Latvijas Vēstnesis," writes LETA.

The non-staff advisory officer to the Prime Minister on military cooperation has been appointed Colonel Raivis Melnis, Deputy Chief of the Land Component of the Joint Staff of the National Armed Forces.

According to the regulation, the non-staff advisory officer makes proposals for the development and implementation of state policy in a specific area and also provides advice on relevant issues.

In addition, at the special request of a Cabinet member, the officer may represent the Prime Minister's position in other government institutions, working groups, advisory councils, and at meetings where opinions are coordinated.

The non-staff advisory officer may also participate in the work of government institutions in accordance with assigned tasks and may express the Prime Minister's position in the media at the request.
