The ruling parties will discuss the 'division of responsibility' in state enterprises.

The fixation of Evika Silina has already been discussed by government partners at the last coalition council. A continuation of the discussion is expected on Monday. The essence of the Prime Minister's initiative is that state capital companies (read - state enterprises) would be managed or rather - controlled by not one ministry, but two or even three. For example, Riga Airport, currently 'under the care' of the Ministry of Transport, would also be under the supervision of the Ministry of Economics. As far as can be understood, this idea is strongly supported, along with the Prime Minister's party members, by the 'Progressives', which is understandable - they probably hope that the Ministry of Transport could share responsibility for Rail Baltica with the Ministry of Finance. The 'Progressives' believe that this would improve the process of 'finding' money for this mega-project. Apparently, this will also be a topic of discussion at the coalition meeting.

Additionally, partners are expected to finally decide on the option for supporting Latvians with heating payments. It is unlikely that any compensation will be expected for all households - there simply are not enough funds in the treasury for that. It is possible that the circle of individuals who, due to their modest incomes, could qualify for housing assistance from their municipality will be slightly expanded.
