As is known, the scandal involving flights on private jets cost Krisjanis Karins his career. However, the one who suffered the most was not him, but... now former head of the State Chancellery Janis Citskovskis, who became the only accused in the "plane" criminal case. Citskovskis himself categorically disagrees with the charges brought against him.
"Macron and Merkel flew to Brussels on personal jets. And Karins - on a commercial flight. At some point, Karins had a desire to live the same way and fly on private jets... This was the prime minister's desire. And they blame me! They tell me that I should have better controlled the process and canceled the flights of private jets ordered by the prime minister! I looked at all the laws and once again confirmed that I do not have such a right!" - said J. Citskovskis. He reported that during the height of the scandal, two advisors came to him and urged him to... take responsibility!
