The parliament will also consider several requests from the opposition - including why passenger transport to Russia and Belarus has not yet been banned.
The upcoming plenary session of the Saeima will consider and is likely to support the transfer of a "people's initiative" to the Saeima's Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs regarding the deprivation of citizenship and expulsion of disloyal residents from the country. Despite the absurdity of the proposal, the majority of members of the Saeima's Committee on Mandates, Ethics, and Statements decided to give it the green light, meaning to transfer it to the relevant committee for substantive consideration. After all, the proximity of elections forces deputies... to lose their sense of reality.
The parliament will also consider several requests from the opposition - for instance, deputies from the National Alliance have addressed Minister of Transport Aitis Švinkers, demanding an explanation of why regular bus services to the Russian Federation and Belarus are still being operated.
On the agenda of the plenary session on Thursday are also amendments to the law that propose freezing the amount of subsidies to political parties next year, which will save more than 700,000 euros in the treasury.
The long-awaited bill outlining the responsibilities, as well as the goals and objectives of the century project Rail Baltica, will also begin its journey through parliamentary instances.
