Parliamentarians accuse each other of violating the parliamentary ethics code.
Tomorrow and the day after, the members of the Saeima Defense and Internal Affairs Committee will review numerous amendments submitted to the new immigration bill. The most significant discussions are expected regarding the articles of the bill that list the grounds for the annulment of residence permits.
In turn, the State Administration and Local Government Affairs Committee will discuss possible changes to the law on completing the privatization process. Amendments are necessary in case, after January 1, 2026, homeowners in apartment buildings decide to leave the managing company but do not sign a contract with another company and do not start managing the building themselves. Who will then sign contracts with service providers (water, heating, waste disposal), and who will issue the bills?
Tomorrow, the Mandates and Ethics Committee will discuss two complaints from some deputies against others.
The leaders of the "New Unity" faction accuse Edmunds Zivtiņš ("Latvia First") of violating the parliamentary ethics code, who, when participants in the rally supporting the Istanbul Convention were mentioned from the Saeima podium, shouted from the hall, "Traitors."
In turn, the leader of the "Latvia First" faction, Linda Liepiņa, is asking for punishment for the violation of the parliamentary ethics code by Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica ("New Unity"), who called the "Latvia First" party "state-dangerous."
