The parliament discussed this bill for over 14 hours!
So, after 14 hours of discussions, a sensational decision has been made - the Saeima approved the bill on Latvia's withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention in its final reading! 56 deputies voted 'for', two abstained (Raev and Shmits), and 32 parliamentarians voted 'against'. Now the president must have his say - he has 10 days to decide whether to proclaim the law or send it back to the Saeima for revision.
