The ex-president was displeased with the demarche of the 'green farmers'.
Former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers noted in an interview with TV-24 that the 'green farmers' made a clear demarche by voting with the opposition to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention. 'This could not be tolerated!' the ex-president is convinced. He concluded that no one is interested in dismantling the current government. Moreover, in Zatlers' opinion, the power in Latvia is weak right now, and those in power are characterized by indecisiveness.
Commenting on this story regarding the convention, Zatlers noted that no facts were presented showing that the convention caused any harm. Therefore, there are no grounds for its cancellation.
