The parliament's subcommittee will hear information about the possibility of taxing cross-border businesses - booking, Airbnb, and other international companies.

Tomorrow in the Saeima, as usual on Tuesdays, meetings of most commissions and subcommittees will take place. The Saeima's budget commission will hear information about how the healthcare budget was utilized in the past and this year, as well as the healthcare budget for the medium-term perspective. Notably, medicine will also be discussed in the social affairs commission - deputies will be introduced to the results of the State Audit Office's review on how effectively hospitals operate in Latvia.

In turn, deputies in the commission on public administration and local government affairs will be informed about what has already been done in the fight against bureaucracy and what is planned to be done within the specially created working group. In particular, an audit of functions in public administration (ministries) is planned, which will help identify the duplication of functions, reduce public administration, and make its work more efficient.

In the subcommittee on combating the shadow economy, experts will discuss the possibility of imposing VAT on international businesses - booking, Airbnb, and other companies operating in Latvia, but without registration in our country, as a cross-border business.
