For the fourth time in the last six months, the opposition is trying to express no confidence in the Prime Minister and, consequently, the entire government.
Only if previously the main initiator of such demands for the Prime Minister's resignation was the faction "Latvia First", now the baton has been taken up by the deputies of the National Alliance and the United List. Their project will be considered at tomorrow's plenary session.
The "rebels in power" represented by the "Green Farmers" are not yet ready to dismantle the existing government. This means that the opposition's proposal to dismiss Evika Silina will be rejected.
However, it will be interesting to observe how the same "Green Farmers" will vote on the proposal from the opposition faction "Latvia First" to abolish the reduced VAT rate on publications dedicated to supporting... the LGBT community! It is clear that the opposition continues to push its agenda against the position and activities of sexual minorities.
The deputies of the National Alliance have also prepared a request to the Minister of the Interior, Richard Kozlovskis ("New Unity"), regarding the citizenship situation of Petr Aven in Latvia. This means that the deputies want to know when the authorities plan to initiate the process of stripping Aven of his Latvian citizenship.
