The average age of the deceased in Latvia last year was 75.9 years, which is five months more than in 2024, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.
The average age of deceased men last year was 70.6 years, and for women, it was 80.5 years.
A total of 26,109 deaths were registered in Latvia in 2025, which is 552 or 2.1% fewer than the previous year.
If even more people had left the country, the number of deaths would have decreased as well.
