During the pre-holiday and holiday period from June 19 to June 25, the State Police will intensively monitor traffic throughout the country, paying special attention to identifying drivers who are behind the wheel while intoxicated.
The State Police emphasized that one can only get behind the wheel when sober. If alcohol consumption is planned during the holiday, arrangements for a safe return home should be made in advance.
It is equally important not to allow friends, relatives, or acquaintances to drive under the influence to prevent tragedy, the police reminded.
Last year, during the holiday season, 15 people were injured and one person died as a result of traffic accidents.
