In turn, starting from October 1, 2027, the heat energy tariff of "Rīgas siltums" may increase by 1.1% - to 83.82 euros per MWh excluding VAT.
The company reports that the changes in the tariff are related to the creation of a new production plan, the revision of some fixed costs, the construction of an electrode boiler, changes in the excise tax, and changes in unforeseen income/expenses.
The corresponding tariff project has been submitted to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
Currently, the heating fee in Riga is 83.01 euros per MWh excluding VAT.
In a press release, "Rīgas siltums" states that according to the company's current forecasts, the heating tariff may need to be revised again in the next heating season, and it may increase. However, it is currently impossible to accurately determine the potential size of the increase, as it will mainly depend on natural gas prices in the coming months, which are influenced by external circumstances, especially events in the Strait of Hormuz, "Rīgas siltums" notes.
