After a sunny and hot Wednesday, Thursday will become cloudier and windier in Latvia. At the same time, temperatures will remain summery high and may reach +25 degrees in some areas.
On Thursday, the weather in Latvia will gradually change under the influence of a cyclone. The sky will no longer be as clear as the day before, and winds will strengthen in many areas of the country.
Cloud cover will noticeably increase in Kurzeme. In Latgale and Vidzeme, the sun will appear more frequently, so there will be more hours of sunshine there. By evening, the first rains may occur in the southwest of Kurzeme.
Despite the increase in cloudiness, air temperatures will remain high for early June. During the day, temperatures will rise to +20...+25 degrees, with the warmest areas once again being in the interior parts of the country.
One of the main weather factors will be the wind. In the afternoon, gusts of southern and southeastern winds will reach 10–15 meters per second in some places. Such winds will be felt strongly in open coastal areas and certain regions.
In Riga, significant precipitation is not expected. The capital will experience variable cloudiness, temperatures around +23 degrees, and a noticeable increase in wind in the afternoon.
For those planning to spend time outdoors, it is important to remember another feature of the day. Even with clouds, the level of ultraviolet radiation will remain high. Experts recommend protecting the skin from the sun most actively from noon to three in the afternoon.
According to meteorologists, the weather conditions on Thursday will be determined by the eastern periphery of the cyclone, so the atmosphere will become more dynamic in the coming days than at the beginning of the week.
However, no significant cooling is expected yet, and summer warmth will remain in Latvia.
