I want to share an outrageous fact. Recently, the promenade on Latgales street, near the DOLE supermarket, was asphalted. People barely had time to rejoice — machinery arrived, and the asphalt surface was dismantled.
What is happening?! Why was the surface removed? And how much did this cost the city? A reader of the portal bb.lv
Answers Krista Vitola, project coordinator of the external communication department of the Riga City Council:
– During an inspection at the site mentioned by the reader, several defects in the road surface were found. Therefore, in order for the site to be accepted for operation, the company that carried out this work was instructed to rectify the deficiencies.
At the same time, work to eliminate defects will also be carried out on the road surface and adjacent access roads, as well as at the intersections of Vishkyu and Ikshiles streets with Latgales street.
All of the above work is being carried out at the expense of the construction contractor.
