Raevs is leaving his post as parliamentary secretary and hints at the mess in the defense system: “The capabilities are far from what we were told…”
What has been heard raises confusion — how strong is the team that holds the security of our state? Do the best professionals in the government and armed forces think about and care for these issues?

“The armed forces are fine, they do not need to be interfered with — they need to be supported and helped. There are enough smart and experienced people there. But politically… we should stop speaking at the level of slogans, as has been happening until now. We talk about certain things, fully understanding that in reality they are not at the level we present them.
The society is given a false impression of reality. At some point, people start demanding to show what they have been told, and then it turns out that these were just stories worthy of Baron Munchausen. The capabilities are far from what has been said.
The society needs to be given a real understanding of what we can or cannot do. And if we cannot do something — we need to think about how to change that.”
