To ensure the construction of a bike lane and the improvement of the street intersection, traffic restrictions will be introduced at the intersection of Dzirnavu and Skolas Streets from today until April 30, the LETA agency was informed by the External Communications Department of the Riga City Council.
Traffic will be completely closed at the intersection, while pedestrian movement will be limited and organized along temporary routes. The decision regarding traffic organization stipulates that the section of Dzirnavu Street at the intersection will be closed in both directions, redirecting traffic to neighboring streets.
The traffic restrictions are necessary for the reconstruction of water supply networks, as well as for preparing the bearing layer of the pavement for further construction work on cycling and pedestrian infrastructure.
The aim of the work is to improve traffic safety and develop a modern, sustainable urban environment, providing a more convenient and safe infrastructure for all road users.
The entity responsible for carrying out the work has been instructed to ensure the installation of traffic signs, access for vehicles of residents and businesses located on the specified sections of the streets to their places of residence or activity, as well as the movement of emergency and public transport.
