On Monday, the northern and northwestern winds in Latvia will strengthen again, but they will not be as strong as on Sunday, meteorologists predict, writes LETA.
Wind gusts will reach 13–18 meters per second, with the windiest weather expected in the eastern part of the country.
The sun will be intermittently obscured by clouds, with brief rain, snow, and hail possible in some areas. The maximum air temperature will be +6 to +10 degrees.
In Riga, dry and sunny weather is expected. The northern and northwestern winds will gust up to 17 meters per second, and the air will warm up to +7 to +8 degrees.
To the west of Latvia, there is a vast anticyclone, while to the east, there is a cyclone. The atmospheric pressure at sea level will range from 1008 hPa at the border with Russia to 1019 hPa on the southern coast of Kurzeme.
