Last week, the average electricity price in Latvia decreased by 2.4 times, amounting to €35.81 per megawatt-hour (MWh), reported JSC "Latvenergo".

In Lithuania, the average electricity price also decreased by 2.4 times last week, amounting to €35.83 per MWh, while in Estonia it decreased by 2.7 times to €31.52 per MWh.

"Latvenergo" notes that wholesale electricity prices in the region of the Nordic and Baltic countries sharply declined last week, reaching the lowest average price level for the week this year in the Baltic states.

The price drop was mainly due to a significant increase in production from wind power plants, as well as a slight decrease in electricity consumption. Thus, along with high production from solar power plants, the ratio of domestic production to consumption in the Baltic states reached 105% last week, the highest level in the last two years since May 2024.

The price of the "Nord Pool" system decreased to €39.75 per MWh, which is 2.5 times lower than the previous week.
