Last year, 6.7% of residents in Latvia were unable to pay their utility bills, rent, or repay loans due to a lack of funds, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau. Compared to 2024, the share of such residents decreased by 0.7 percentage points, the CSB claims.
Proportionally, the most common issues were faced by residents aged 18 to 24 - 8.8%.
In cities, such problems occurred among 7.2% of residents, while in rural areas, it was 5.6%.
