As part of the "Solar Eclipse 2026" exercises, from today until April 2, combat artillery firing will take place at the military training ground in Ādaži, which may cause a temporary increase in noise levels, the army reported.
It was previously reported that from March 23 to April 2, military exercises organized by the mechanized infantry brigade of the Land Forces are taking place at the Ādaži training ground and surrounding areas in the Saulkrasti, Sigulda, and Ropaži municipalities.
The aim of the exercises is to improve the interaction between artillery, mortar, and anti-tank units so that they can more effectively support the brigade's tasks.
Main objectives:
- Improving the skills of artillery and anti-tank units,
- Strengthening coordination between units,
- Developing the ability to detect targets using drones,
- Practicing supply and logistics in various conditions.
Military personnel and Zemessargi from the mechanized infantry brigade of the Land Forces, the 1st Riga, 2nd Vidzeme, and 3rd Latgale brigades of Zemessardze, as well as allies from the NATO multinational brigade in Latvia, are participating in the exercises.
