29 cases of measles have already been registered.

The measles outbreak in Latvia continues, with 29 cases of the disease already registered, reports the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC).

Two cases have not yet been confirmed by laboratory tests.

According to the CDPC, ten children aged six to ten years and another ten aged eleven to fifteen years have fallen ill.

The remaining cases involve adults, including one in the 31-35 age group, two in the 36-40 age group, three in the 41-45 age group, and three in the 46-50 age group.

As previously reported, the CDPC is asking parents and family doctors to check the vaccination status of children. According to the vaccination schedule, the first vaccination should be administered at 12-15 months of age, and revaccination should occur at seven years of age.

If vaccinations were not administered at the appropriate age, individuals can receive them at government expense until the age of 25.
