A calf of a Bactrian camel was born at the Riga National Zoo, zoo representatives told the LETA agency.
A female camel was born on March 14 and weighed 37 kilograms. According to zoo representatives, the calf is lively and has been staying close to its mother Leila since the first days of its life, who takes care of it and feeds it herself.
Currently, they are living separately from the rest of the camel group so that the newborn can grow and get acquainted with the surrounding world without unnecessary stress, zoo representatives noted.
The name of the calf is promised to be revealed very soon.
