The Latvian Ambassador to Israel, Gints Serafinoch, advises Latvians stranded in the country to stay in safe places and not to attempt to leave the country by land, as it may be dangerous.
In the program "Morning Panorama" on Latvian television, the ambassador stated that it is possible to leave Israel by land through Egypt, and starting today, it will also be possible to leave the country through Jordan. Later, it is expected that ferry services to Cyprus will be organized.
The Latvian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dana Goldfinch, previously also advised Latvians not to attempt to leave the UAE by land routes on their own, but instead to wait for the situation to be resolved on the ground.
Serafinoch reported that the embassy is aware of several dozen Latvians in Israel who have registered in the consular registry or contacted the embassy. Currently, the embassy is closed to visitors and is not providing a number of services, focusing on addressing security issues.
