The municipal LLC "Dzintaru koncertzāle" plans to demolish the public toilet near the concert hall, as indicated by the draft decision prepared for the Jurmala city council meeting, reports LETA.
The building located at 1 Turaydas Street is in the protected zone of a state significance urban planning monument — the concert hall. In the committee on development and environment issues, it was explained to the deputies that the building of the toilet itself has no cultural or historical value.
According to the draft decision, the National Heritage Administration has also agreed to the demolition of the building. The city council plans to give its consent as well, instructing the municipal construction inspection to ensure that the demolition is carried out in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' regulations "General Construction Rules" and "Building Construction Rules."
The deputies of the committee on development and environment issues were informed that the design of a new toilet building, "suitable for weather conditions," is currently underway.
According to data from "Firmas.lv," the turnover of the Dzintari concert hall in 2024 amounted to 2,109,377 euros, and the profit was 123,568 euros.
