In most parts of the country, the air will cool down to -15...-25 degrees, while in some coastal areas it will be slightly warmer. With a light wind in places, mainly in the northeast, fog and hoarfrost will form.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with no precipitation expected. The temperature will rise to -5...-11 degrees with a light or moderate eastern, southeastern wind.
In Riga, sunny weather is expected on Tuesday, with no precipitation. At night, with a light southeastern wind, the air temperature will drop to -17 degrees, and in the suburbs to -22 degrees. During the day, the wind will be light to moderate from the east, southeast, and the air temperature will rise to -7 degrees.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the lowest air temperature on Sunday morning was -30.3 degrees in Stalgene, and on Monday morning the thermometer at the Daugavpils observation station dropped to -30.5 degrees.
According to current forecasts, frosts down to -30 degrees are not expected again this winter, and the weather will become warmer and more changeable, with periodic precipitation, thaws, and gusty winds.
