The night of Saturday in Latvia will still be relatively warm, but in the following nights, the frost will intensify, meteorologists predict, reports LETA.
On Saturday, light snow is expected in some areas, with more precipitation in the southern part of the country. During the day, the sun will shine in many regions of Latvia. A weak eastern to northeastern wind will blow. Night and morning temperatures will range from -5 to -9 degrees, and in northern Vidzeme, they may drop to -13. During the day, temperatures will warm up to -3 to -8 degrees.
On Sunday and Monday, mostly sunny weather is expected, but it will get colder — on the night of Monday, temperatures in most regions of the country may drop to -20 to -25 degrees.
In the second half of next week, Latvia will find itself on the border between warm air to the south and cold air to the north. It is likely that warm air will not reach Latvia. More significant precipitation is possible over the weekend.
According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, next week in Latvia will be 6 to 7 degrees colder than normal, and the following week will be about 4 degrees colder than the average from 1991 to 2020. Snow is expected periodically.
